“Uncharted”| Prophetic Word

u n c h a r t e d

definition

  1. (of an area of land or sea) not mapped or surveyed.
  2. (of a place) never before described, or (of a situation) completely new

God is releasing his pioneering servants into “uncharted” territories.

These individuals have been commissioned to enter:

  1. Areas that have not yet been explored with the gospel
  2. Areas that were formerly uninhabitable, inaccessible, and/or hostile to the gospel
  3. Areas that have already been explored with the gospel, however, the pioneers have now been commissioned to approach and harness these areas in new ways. These individuals will be known as the “Uncharted Ones,” for it is their approach and likeness that will be uncharted, rather than the environment that they enter into.

Detailed breakdown of each area below:

1. Areas that have not yet been explored with the gospel:

The command of Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 to “make disciples of all nations” gave the followers of Jesus the greenlight to venture beyond the children of Israel and to reach out to all the earth with the Good News. Today, this looks like moving beyond “churched” people and areas and stepping into nations, organizations, spaces, and spheres where there has been little to no presentation of the Good News.

He is sending pioneers there to scout, settle, and then sow seeds that will bear fruit in due time (please note: these fruits will not be immediate, but they will provide necessary grounding and structure for the believers that will follow in future)

You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. ~ John 4:35

2. Areas that were formerly uninhabitable, inaccessible, and/or hostile to the gospel:

In the books of Acts 16:6 we are informed that during Paul’s missionary journey, Paul was initially prevented by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word of God in the province of Asia at that time.

As we continue to read, Acts 19:8-10 reveals that Paul was eventually able to minister in the province of Asia (namely Ephesus, a major city) at a later stage, reaping great results. We are not directly told why the Holy Spirit initially prevented Paul & his colleagues from entering the province of Asia, however, from what we can observe of God’s divine strategy in spreading the gospel (starting with increased persecution in Jerusalem – as documented in Acts 8:1-4 – forcing many of the believers out into surrounding cities, spreading the word of God as they went), he has a sovereign reason for all things.

It is highly probable that the harvest was not yet ripe in the province of Asia at that time. It could also be suggested that there was a greater (and perhaps more strategic) need for Paul to be in Macedonia instead at that time (as seen in Acts 16:9-10)

3. Areas that have already been explored, however, the pioneers have been commissioned to approach and harness these areas in new ways:

These individuals will be known as the “Uncharted Ones,” for it is their approach and likeness that will be uncharted, rather than the environment that they enter into.

In the book of Joshua 1, as the second generation of wilderness roaming Israelites prepared to enter the promised land, we find the Lord commanding Joshua over & over to be “strong and courageous” (see Joshua 1:6-7,9). It was almost a cautionary reminder for Joshua not to replicate the faithless actions of his fellow spies (minus Caleb) 40 years prior who [by their fear laden report] managed to discourage the entire nation of Israel and send them into a panic induced disobedience regarding entering the promised land.

The poor report of 10 spies snowballed an entire nation into rebellion that resulted in a sentence of 40 years of wandering the wilderness. This wilderness roaming was purposed to purge the nation of its faithlessness by waiting for the older, faithless generation to die out (see Numbers 14:29-34).

In Joshua 2:1, Joshua sent spies to scout the promised land in preparation for Israel’s entry. God’s repeated command to be strong and courageous was also a reminder to Joshua to approach conquering the promised land with a fresh perspective (RENEWED, bold, and brave), not with the fear laced perspective of the past.

[18] “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. [19] See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. ~ Isaiah 43:18-19

Purpose & impact for today:

The primary purpose for this declaration is to invite & ignite godly reform that will be the source of dramatic power shifts in major systems, organizations, and corporations that will powerfully impact generations to come.

Many of the seeds planted from the fulfilment of this word will be the driving forces, foundations, and springboards for movements that will be established and/or taken over by children born in the current generation once they reach adulthood.

A significant area that will be impacted by the fulfilment of this word is:

  • Media & entertainment
    • We have already seen a raising up of gospel centred films & Television series’ gracing the big screen and streaming platforms. These are some of the fruits of pioneers in whom God has already sent out to explore new areas, formerly inaccessible areas, and formerly explored areas in NEW ways. Expect to see a continued increase in high quality gospel themed entertainment presented in ways it has not normally been presented. These “new” methods will largely broaden the nets used to catch God’s intended fish.

During this time, we will also see a strengthening and showcasing of:

  • Multifarious gifts
    • We will see a rise in multi-gifted, multi-ordained, and multi-comissioned individuals as they re-engage familiar spaces in new ways. The Lord is causing broadly gifted individuals’ gifts to intertwine, forming a secure rope in which his message can effectively and powerfully pass through.
      • Throughout his lifetime, David was a shepherd, a prophetic psalmist, a warrior, and a King, with each season bringing another gift to the forefront. In a similar fashion, those who have been largely known for one skill, gift, or craft shall be revealed, as David was, in new ways. The invisible box that confined these individuals to function in only one expression of their giftings shall be shattered, causing the gospel message to overflow into the vast array of gifts God has supplied them for the strengthening and expansion of the delivery of the gospel. That which is exercised will be used and strengthened. The more you use the gifts, the easier they shall intertwine & flow.
    • Gift combinations we are likely to see:
      • Teacher × Prophet (likened to Moses)
      • Warrior × Psalmist (likened to David)
      • Prophet × Judge (likened to Deborah)
      • Scribe × Teacher (likened to Ezra)
      • And more.

Final encouragements:

For those entering uncharted territories:

  • Scout the land like the Israelite spies. Go out and assess, but keep an open mind. Note your findings, and do not allow your report to be tainted by personal fears.

For those entering areas that were formerly hostile/inaccessible:

  • This area includes areas that were once heavily resistant to evangelism. God has prepared the hearts of many family members, loved ones, and broader communities to receive his word. Areas that were once likened to a brick wall are now softened to receiving the truth and love of God.

[15] Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. ~ 1 Peter 3:15 NLT

For those entering familiar territories in uncharted ways (the “uncharted ones”):

  • Inspect the ruins/the wall before getting to work. Before announcing his plan to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls, Nehemiah went to inspect the wall in secret. During this stage: survey the wall, assess the damage, check what is working and what is not, check what materials have remained standing, and which materials have not. This will aid you in appropriately planning your next steps.
  • Many will be engaging areas that others have ventured into and struggled. Many will be walking into their own version of “ruins”. Assess the root cause of the damage, and, like Joshua, take on a FRESH perspective as you prepare to commence the work (Isaiah 43:18-19)

In summary,

The LORD is sending pioneering vessels into the following uncharted territories:

  1. New ground
  2. Formerly hostile/inaccessible ground
  3. Familiar ground in a new way

This is for the purpose of inviting and igniting godly reforms that will dramatically shift major systems, largely influencing generations to come.

We will see an increase in the display of multi-gifted individuals, and the combining of their gifts shall produce a strengthening of the expression of the gospel message.

With instructions to scout the land (like the Israelite spies), assess the ruins (like Nehemiah), and approach the assignments before us in a fresh way (like Joshua), we are also encouraged that our God-led endeavours will not be pursued or accomplished in vain, as the next generation shall surely eat and build from their fruit.

“The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. ~ Deuteronomy 28:8 NLT
